The centre is located at 35 Uxbridge Road, Howick close to Howick Village – just one minute’s walk from the main street, Picton Street.

Coming from the City: Take the Southern Motorway (SH1, Hamilton-bound) and take the next exit after the Ellerslie / Penrose Exit - this is the South Eastern Highway. Veer left off the Exit following signs to Howick/Pakuranga (H10). Go straight through two sets of lights. Drive over the Pakuranga Motorway Overbridge (keeping left) and turn Left onto Ti Rakau Drive at the lights. Pakuranga Shopping Centre should be on your right. Turn Right onto the Pakuranga Highway at the T-junction. Follow Pakuranga Highway through 10 sets of lights, following signs to Howick (H5). Stockade Hill (to your left) and a lovely view of the sea marks the entrance to Howick. Come straight through the roundabout onto Picton Street, Howick's main street. Uxbridge Road is on your left, just past the pedestrian crossing. Uxbridge, Howick's Creative Centre is on your right, just past the Library. There is plenty of street parking (60mins) or park in the carpark at the end of the driveway that runs between Uxbridge and the Library

Uxbridge has various rooms and equipment which it hires out to customers and groups. Information given below is useful to anyone wanting to hire a room.

General Information

Setting up and/or cleaning up time must be included in your hire period. For after hours and weekend use, a $20 bond will be charged for the key, which is refunded when it is returned. Keys must be collected during office hours (9 am – 4pm on weekdays). Return all furniture to the correct storage area and leave the room in a clean and tidy condition. Vacuum cleaner, mop etc. are available for your use. Please remove all rubbish bags and wash cups, crockery etc.

Gallery

Uxbridge hires its gallery out to customers for exhibitions and performances. Our gallery space is usually booked a year in advance.

The theatre can seat over 100 people and it is equipped with professional lighting and sound systems.

Lounge

The lounge seats up to 40 and includes use of the lounge kitchen if required.

Hall

Studios

Uxbridge has three studios. The painting studios can accommodate up to 15 artists with their works. The cast glass, pottery, and sculpture studio can accommodate up 8 artists with their work. We also have a special agreement only for the pottery and cast glass studio.

Equipment Hire

A refundable bond will be charged for hire of some equipment.
